MERIDIAN CDE 84616

In 2012 Meridian issued a CD of chamber music by Christopher Rathbone. Members of 'Daniel's Beard' played the sextet 'Daniel's Razor' op 114, Elegy op 56, the Clarinet Quintet op 61, 'Tarn Hows' op 101, the Terzetto for flute, clarinet & piano op 55, the Organ Quartet op 100, Three Bagatelles for cello & piano op 67 and the Horn Quintet op 120.

A further recording of Christopher playing 4 of his own piano preludes and other piano music and accompaniments at Castle Howard was published in 2009. Alongside music performed by Francis Jackson and Simon Lindley, and choirs directed by Dr Lindley, Christopher plays the following items:

(On the Erard piano[c. 1830]): Chopin Waltz in C#minor; Mazurka in A minor   Fauré Nocturne in Db major

An anthem called Hymn to the Trinity op 108 no 1 is on the Bradford Cathedral CD called A Very Yorkshire Christmas produced by Clematis Records which appeared in December 2011, and can be obtained from the Cathedral, from Grove Records, Ilkley, or from Christopher on 07534 095386.

Paul Hale's CD (2013) recorded at Southwell Minster (Southwell Splendour 2) includes A Southwell Suite op 113 (OxRecs OXCD-120)

Christopher can be heard playing César Franck's Three Chorales plus the early Fantaisie in C on a Clematis Records CD produced in 2013 for the Bradford Cathedral organ appeal.

'St Margaret's - The Power of Music' is the name of a 2013 CD featuring all four St Margaret's Choirs. The music sung by the mainly adult St Margaret's Choir includes anthems by Hilton and Gibbons, also Philip Wilby's 'God be in my head' and the Nuptial Song op 105 (My Beloved Spake) and God of New Beginnings op 118 by Christopher Rathbone. All were either directed or accompanied by CBR.

'One English Summer' is a disc of songs performed by Tristram and Thomas Cooke recorded in the Summer of 2013; I was privileged to accompany Tristram in 'the mouse' from Britten's 'Rejoice in the Lamb' (organ) and Thomas (Jude) in Gibbs's 'A Song of Shadows' (piano).
